look. i love doing my show. i want to do it everywhere. it’s a lot of fun. i’m extremely proud of it.

if you’re in new york city now, consider coming to my show. no, don’t consider it - just come. don’t think, buy a ticket and come to my show.

sunday, 7/30, eris (in williamsburg), doors at 8:15p, opening set by the wonderful Zilla Vodnas.

here’s the ticket link.

oh jeez.

hey. first of all, i’m sorry. i totally meant to mention that i’m still doing comedy and in fact i told jokes at the melbourne international comedy festival (as in AUSTRALIA), but the time got away from me. i also performed my show DON’T REACH IN THE BAG at the moontower comedy festival in austin (as in TEXAS). my bad. i should have said something. but i’m saying something now. and if you live in or near portland (as in OREGON), PAY ATTENTION: i’m doing DON’T REACH IN THE BAG at the Clinton St Theater on Friday, May 26! (i’m also doing a coheadlining set with dulce sloan at the same spot on saturday, may 27, but it’s really about y'all coming to my solo joint.) grab your tickets here: https://www.kickstandcomedy.org/shows/kickstand-presents-shalewa-sharpe-dont-reach-in-the-bag-w-dulc-sloan i’ll try to do a better job of keeping you in the loop, okay?

why, yes, of COURSE i’m doing my show again in brooklyn.

this time, i’m at littlefield. it’s a larger room than i’ve done before, but i’ve decided to not stress out about that part. instead, i am more excited than ever to present it to y'all!

that said, pleeeease get a ticket or two and come out. it’s only ten bucks in advance! that’s so reasonable! kenice mobley is opening! she’s so fantastic!

hey there. it’s me, mario!

happy hallowe'en, if you partake. if you don’t, then rest up, baby - i’m doing shows this week!

how is that different from any other week? well, i appreciate your belief in how often i’m getting on stage. it’s dropped a bit since covid arrived. but i just received more masks and i have a few premises to test drive, so i’m ready to go!

these shows are in the new york city area (one is at the end of long island. seriously. it’s where the island ends.) and the first one is a storytelling show. just wanted to let you know. i’m feeling very “full disclosure” lately.

(addresses and times are on my calendar, under SHOWS SHOWS SHOWS.)

hey!

look at this - it hasn’t been a year since my last post. we’re really trying!

anyhoo, i hope you’re all doing well. “well” is a broad term, considering what’s happening in the USA right now, but i hope you’re finding tiny moments of joy and relief.

i’m doing the show again! thursday, 7/21 in brooklyn, at a delightful spot in crown heights called FRIENDS AND LOVERS. i’d be thrilled if you could join me and check out the show and fall in love with it and spread the word with your friends and/or enemies. i’m really trying to create a thing here.

ticket info? don’t mind if i do.

my annual “i’m gonna be better about posting!” post, apparently.

hey there. my last post was 366 days ago, so i’m right on schedule.

we’re trying to crawl out of a pandemic but i don’t think that’s how pandemics work. i’ve been doing in-person shows but i lurk in corners, masked like a hero/villian, until it’s my turn to speak on the mic. i haven’t really been promoting these shows cuz i feel a little weird about coaxing y'all out. if you’re cozy in your bubble, who am i to pop it?

THAT SAID, i am still performing my solo show about working in a porn store, DON’T REACH IN THE BAG, and it would mean so much to me if you decided to come out and watch it. i’m whipping it into shape; this newer version is somehow goofier AND more personal?

i’m doing it on sunday, june 5th at union hall in brooklyn. i’m also doing it at the hideout in chicago in the fall. and i’ll be performing it plenty of times in between. (that last sentence is a manifesting one.)

here’s the brooklyn link:

and here’s the chicago link:

come on out, keep on your mask, sip with a straw, laugh at my show, ask me questions during the Q&A portion, think about something i said just before you fall asleep!

hey there. okay, first things first - i cohost a podcast with the sublimely hilarious Gastor Almonte. it’s called The War Report and it was Gastor’s idea. He thought it would be cool to talk about current events with me. i don’t know how his brain works but here we are. we’ve done quite a few episodes - i’m not sure how many because i don’t handle the numbers. or the sound production. or the research. basically, i show up, turn on my mic & webcam and prepare to talk with with gastor. my contribution is very valuable. you can listen - actually, you SHOULD listen - but you can also watch: gastor tapes us every week and posts the videos on his YouTube account. here is a link to those. the episodes hit the streets every thusday, with a bonus episode on mondays. check us out!

*taps mic* hello?

HAHAHAHAHA!

oh wow, it’s like i disappeared for over a year, huh? my goodness.

well, what’s going on with you?

okay, but for real, though - while i spent most of 2020 hiding out in my home (like all of us SHOULD HAVE BEEN DOING, AHEM), i still managed to get some stuff done. i told jokes over Zoom! i started a podcast with the fantastic Gastor Almonte! i rediscovered sweatpants!

today i woke up and thought, “time to get my life together.” that might be a side effect of the covid vaccine, but i’m still going to give it a try.

and i’ll start by updating this bad boy.

if you’re here, thanks for finding me. if you’ve been here, thanks for sticking it out.

here’s how my weekend’s looking.

when i get a minute, i’m going to compile some stuff i’ve done over the past few weeks. podcasts, articles, etc. a nice little one stop shop for all my…huh. i don’t have a name for my fans yet. well, for the tens of you, there will be some stuff.
